Ingredients

Optional

Equipment

1 small bottles for storing 3.38oz/100ml

Instructions

  • Put everything in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • The wonderful thing about this recipe is that you can use any frozen fruit you like. After blending, feel free to adjust the sweetness to your preference.
  • Add more milk if it’s too thick, or more yogurt if it’s too thin.
  • I strain the yogurt drink through a fine mesh sieve after blending to get out the seeds.
  • Pour it into small bottles or glasses and store it in the fridge.

Notes

Note 1: Get creative with your choice of frozen fruit! Berries work wonderfully, as do frozen bananas. You may need to adjust the amount of milk or yogurt to reach your preferred thickness. Avoid using fruit that is high in acid, like pineapple, as it can cause the milk to separate, and the yogurt drink won’t turn out right.
Note 2: If you’d like to make this recipe dairy-free, simply swap the yogurt for your favorite coconut or soy yogurt. It works perfectly!
Note 3: Any milk or plant-based milk will work for this recipe. However, some plant milks have a thicker consistency, so you might need to adjust the amount slightly. To make it dairy-free, simply swap the yogurt and milk for plant-based alternatives.
Note 4: A splash of maple syrup isn’t an exact measurement, but that’s the beauty of this recipe—it’s up to your taste! Some kids like their drinks sweeter than others. If you prefer a sweeter result, agave nectar is a great alternative with a stronger sweetening effect.
Note 5: We sometimes increase the vanilla extract to 2 tablespoons because that’s what my son prefers. Feel free to adjust it to suit your taste!
Storage: Store this delicious yogurt drink in the fridge for up to 3 days.
