Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350℉.
  • Beat the eggs with the sugars until frothy.
  • Mix in the flour, vanilla extract, baking powder, lemon zest, and butter, and combine everything well.
  • Spray the donut pan with baking oil spray.
  • Fill the dough with the medium cookie scoop, leaving a little of space at the top of the pan.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake on the middle rack for about 12 – 15 minutes.
  • Test if the donuts are baked through with a toothpick. If no batter sticks to it, they are done.
  • Let them cool on a cooling rack.

Optional

  • Mix the powdered sugar with lemon juice until you have a thick glaze. Dip the donuts into the glaze and let the excess glaze drip back into the bowl where you prepared it.

Notes

Note 1: You can also use margarine or plant-based butter. I use unsalted sweet cream butter for this recipe.
Storage: Keep them at room temperature in a cake container for up to 4 days. You can also freeze them in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
